Maastricht, the oldest city in the Netherlands has a great appeal for its inhabitants and tourists. Maastricht has impressive monuments, a wide variety of shops, attractive pavement cafés, caves, theatres and museums, restaurants and cafés, lovely squares and parks, and is widely known for its hospitality. Life in Maastricht is simply more easy-going and characterized by what the French call “joie de vivre.” It’s also what makes Maastricht unique.
In 1992 ‘The Maastricht Treaty’ was signed here, marking the founding of the later European Union. This among other events marks Maastricht’s important role in Europe.
Throughout the ESHA 2016 program we will provide different activities which will help you to discover the Maastricht Area. The conference will offer a unique blend of interesting content, opportunities to share your views and of course the taste of Maastricht!
